Happy Rosh Hashanah! - Jodi Young

Five years ago the Lord began to speak to me about curses and blessings. He showed me how He wanted to take me from blessing to blessing to blessing instead of curse to curse to curse. To understand this principal, He said that even though I had been working for a prophetic ministry, I now needed to understand TIME and to get on the timetable of God. Part of that timetable of God was to understand God’s calendar which includes the Feasts of God.
Not a time of legalism but of love, blessing, and favor moving from glory to glory to glory.

In Leviticus 23, we see the seven feasts that God appointed. “These are my appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of the LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies” (verse 2). God appointed a time for us to meet with Him; the mow’ed of God means appointed time, meeting, feast. He has set up a time for you to meet with him specifically. How many of us need a word from the Lord? You have a set time to go and feast with Him, celebrate His answer, and rejoice in His victory.

I am quite convinced that God loves a celebration church. A people that will party, sing, and dance no matter what is going on in the natural because they understand that with God all things are possible and He is on your side.

We see this all through scripture how when the people of God took this stance of celebrating BEFORE the breakthrough-breakthrough happened. Paul and Silas in the jail cell singing. Mordecai and the Israelites celebrating BEFORE the set time to fight back. And even Jesus threw a party (the Passover meal) before he went to the cross and defeated death!

The word celebrate in scripture means to rest, to destroy, to cease. We rest from the worry and we destroy the work of the enemy by the posture we take-rejoicing in God!

It also means to feast, dance, a holy day with leaping, to be giddy, to reel. When we kick our heels up and celebrate the victory BEFORE it is won we reel the enemy!

God likes a party. I love that about Him! He is not worried about the outcome and He doesn’t want us to worry either. So he says, “Hey, I am going to put in my calendar a time for you to remember- I AM BIG. I AM in Control. I AM on your side. I AM your provider. I AM fighting on your behalf, I AM, I AM, I AM. Now sit back and enjoy the banquet I have set before you. Enjoy me. Enjoy my goodness. Celebrate with dancing, and singing, and feasting and as you do you will see who I really am. What I am really like. My goodness, my protection, my victory! And you will understand your identity as a child of God, as a friend, and as my Beloved. ” He prepares a table before us IN THE PRESENCE OF OUR ENEMIES (Psalm 23: 5).

We started one of those seasons today with Rosh Hashanah and the Fall Feasts. The Fall Feasts are Rosh Hashanah ,Yom Kippor, and Feast of Tabernacles. Today we CELEBRATE Rosh Hashanah. It is the Jewish New Year and is celebrated on the first two days of the Hebrew month of Tisri. Rosh Hashanah means, “Head of the Year,” or the biblical interpretation is The Day of Trumpets or (literally) the Day of the Awakening Blast!

We see in scripture the observance of this party:

Leviticus 23:24, “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall you have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.”

Numbers 29:1, “And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have an holy convocation; you shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.”

We are to spend the day blowing trumpets. It is said that the trumpet is blasted over 100 times. Why? We need to WAKE UP! The shofar blasts and pierces the atmosphere with the sound of the Lord-“Wake up!” It is an announcement that change is on the way-WAKE UP and LOOK for what is coming. It signifies a day of new beginnings or renewal, to wake up from lethargy and slumber, to be broken out of that sleepy, comfort zone state and to be awakened to action-don’t miss your moment!

When we celebrate the Gregorian calendar’s New Year of January 1st, we go out to dinner, celebrate with dancing, fireworks, and time with friends. The Jewish New Year is a time of celebrating alignment with God and alignment with his purposes. When I hear the clarion call of the trumpet I align myself with what God has already determined. I align myself with His ways and His highest purposes. He shouts inside of us, “I have a good plan. Follow my ways, link up, don’t give up but WAKE UP. I am expanding you”

The Torah readings for the holiday are significant. Let’s take a look at those:
DAY 1:
Genesis 21:1-34: “The Birth of Isaac”
Numbers 29:1-6: “The Feast of Trumpets”
Samuel 1-2:10: “Samuel’s Birth”

DAY 2:
Genesis 22:1-24-“The Sacrifice of Isaac”
Numbers 29:1-6: “The Feast of Trumpets”
Jeremiah 31:1-19: “The Lord Will Turn Mourning to joy!”

Even the very scriptures that are set apart for the days are to celebrate the fact that what God promises He will bring to pass! “Remember what I have done. I have a plan for you too!” The story of Isaac and Samuel are both stories of waiting on something that the Lord put in the heart of his people. Abraham, Sarah, and Hannah longed and prayed for a child. They waited, and waited, and waited some more till the TIMING OF GOD lined up with their timing. Then the promise comes to pass! Both families had to give the promise to God. Isaac was offered to God as a sacrifice and Samuel was given to the Lord.

Rosh Hashanah is a time to celebrate God birthing the promise that you have cried out for, longed for, and waited for! It is a time to offer it all to Him. It is a time that the Lord will turn our mourning into dancing!!!

Have you grown discouraged and tired in the waiting? Today is a day to wake up! So take some time today to celebrate! Cook a nice meal, turn on some music, laugh, and dance with your family and friends- even blow the trumpet. Let the blast remind you that God is good, He is on your side and he is lining everything up to birth what has been in your heart. Dance away all the cobwebs in your soul that have discouraged you and made you unbelieving. Dip some apples in honey (a common tradition) and declare, “This year is going to be sweet!” Allow God to pull you out of the thicket that you have been in like the ram was provided for Abraham and declare, “God is my Provider; He will make a way where there is no way!” Allow the SOUND to wake you up to the fact that He will birth the things He has promised!

Release the Sound,

Jodi Young

The Now Campaign - Jodi Young

I was worshipping in church a few months ago when I heard the voice of the Lord speak to my heart. He said, “I want you to start a NOW Campaign.”

To back up a bit, I have been on a quest over the last few years to understand TIME. Not just any time but God’s timing. How he does things. God had a whole tribe dedicated to the issue of time in the Old Testament, Issachar. In 1 Chronicles 12:32, we see that they were the tribe, “who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.” All the tribes looked to them to understand what to do and when to do it.

Understanding the times and seasons is key to our victory. So if that is true, what is time? It is a measurable period with action and conditions. There is chronos time and Kyros time:

1. Chronos-This Hebrew word is associated with chronological time. Day to day to day. Month to month to month, year to year to year.

2. Kairos has many meanings. It can mean a) a fixed and definite time, the time when things are brought to crisis, the decisive epoch waited for b) opportune or seasonable time c) the right time d) a limited period of time

Time indicates either PAST, PRESENT, or FUTURE. We have tapped into a prophetic gifting that prophecies future-that is what the prophetic does-it foretells what IS to happen. But I think God is releasing a new level of increase that prophecies NOW and then things happen immediately! When chronos and kairos meet. Not because of anything we have done but because of what needs to be released on the earth NOW for such a time as this.

So I leave you today with one question. What needs to happen NOW for His Kingdom to come on earth? Think about it…
Teach about Him NOW
Heal the sick- NOW
Pray NOW
Give NOW
Forgive NOW
Drive out the demons from the demon possessed NOW
Raise the dead NOW
Go ahead…Prophecy NOW and Start a NOW Campaign to advance His Kingdom. Prophesy life in to those dead, dried bones so they may live. Prophesy lungs to work NOW in the Name of Jesus. Prophecy to the person in line next to you at the grocery store for their eyes to see NOW! Don’t wait, don’t back down. Don’t be intimidates. Do it NOW! God is looking for a people with that same understanding as Issachar, to understand the times and what the world should do. It has to do with understanding the correct TIME and then DOING something.
